Candra Smith has studied anatomy, the systems of the body & movement therapy since 2000. Upon graduating with a degree in Exercise Science from UNCW, her growing love of the mountains brought her to western NC. It was here that she became certified as a Yoga Teacher, Massage Therapist and Ayurveda Health Counselor.
Candra’s yoga education began with Stephanie Keach at the Asheville Yoga Center in 2005. She since has had the fortunate opportunity to study with some of the most respected teachers in the country including Gary Kraftsow, Todd Norian and Roy Eugene Davis. Candra received her 500 hour certification in Classical Yoga at the North Carolina school of Yoga.
Candra’s education in massage began with the 675 hour program at the Asheville School of Massage and Yoga. It was there she was able to utilize her knowledge of yoga not only for her own self care regimen but also to share the postures and breathing techniques to benefit the needs of her clients. She since has studied Reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy, Prenatal Massage and Advanced Deep Tissue techniques. She has been practicing in the Waynesville/Maggie Valley area since 2007.
In 2017, Candra decided to pursue her interest in Ayurveda by getting her Ayurveda Health Counselor certification. She has loved the journey of studying Ayurveda because it has taught her that it matters so much when examining the health of our being in what we think, what we eat and what we do and the energy behind all of that.
